Bring your texts from an iPhone backup, an Android backup or an exported chat, and get a clean, numbered PDF with the date, time and sender of every message, ready to print or send to your attorney. It runs in your browser, so your messages never leave your device.
How it works, in brief: get your texts off your phone, bring the file here, pick the conversation and dates, and download your PDF.
Screenshots are easy to make, but they often leave out the details people ask about later. A printout tends to hold up better when it shows:
This page is general information, not legal advice. Rules on evidence differ by state and court, so ask your attorney or the court clerk how your court wants text messages presented.
Apple doesn't offer a way to save a conversation as a file from the iPhone itself, but a computer backup holds all of your texts. Back the iPhone up to your Mac (Finder) or Windows PC (the free Apple Devices app), then choose “On an iPhone” in the tool above and drag the backup folder in. Encrypted backups work too: you type the backup password and it's used only in your browser. Our guide on how to print text messages from an iPhone walks through each route.
Install the free SMS Backup & Restore app, back up your text messages (leave out photos to keep the file small), and copy the .xml file to the device you're using. See how to print text messages from Android for the steps.
Open the chat. On iPhone, tap the contact or group name and choose Export chat; on Android, tap the three-dot menu, then More, then Export chat. Pick “Without media”. If you get a .zip file, unzip it and choose the .txt file inside.
For every method in one place, read our guide to printing and exporting text messages.

No. Your file is read and the PDF is made inside your web browser, on your own phone or computer. The messages are not sent to TextEvidence or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Courts decide what evidence they admit, and the rules differ by state and by judge, so no tool can promise a printout will be accepted. What courts and attorneys commonly look for is a clear record: the full conversation, the date and time of every message, and who sent it. Keep your phone and the original export file, and ask your attorney or the court clerk how your court wants text messages presented.
