These definitions explain how reports and analytics are calculated in TextEvidence.
Response pair: A response pair is the next message from the opposite sender. We measure the time between the last message in a burst and the reply.
Response time: The elapsed time between the last message before a reply and the reply itself.
24-hour cap: Response gaps longer than 24 hours are treated as conversation breaks and excluded from response-time calculations.
Typical response time: We use the median response time when available, which reduces distortion from long gaps.
N/A contacts: Contacts with no response pairs appear in the report with “N/A” to avoid hiding relationships.
Total messages: A count of all messages in the selected case or conversation, using exact counts that bypass row limits.
Sent vs received: Messages are classified by the device owner (sent) or other participants (received).
Reports are generated from stored message data and may include AI-enriched fields where noted. If a metric is unavailable due to insufficient data, it will display as “N/A.”
